Roman Themed Event
Theme Description
It is 27BC and Julius Caesar’s heir Octavia, has just defeated Mark Antony and Cleopatra, his arch rivals, and then gone on to conquer Egypt. He is due to return tonight from his battles, and the Senate have decided to give him the title of ‘Augustus’ and make him official new ruler of the Roman Empire.
In honour of this great day the palace will be opened for the whole of Rome to feast and celebrate with the new ruler. This will be a truly lavish affair with no expense spared, so don your best toga and sandals and join the precession through the city to the house of Augustus and prepare for the party of the century.
Enter the Palace along a Stone corridor, with rich fabrics draping, doorways and tiled mosaic pictures on the walls. Then pass through the Roman doorway at the end of the corridor, and you will find yourself in a large beautiful courtyard decorated with small twinkling lights, and rich furnishings.
At the front of the room you will see the fantastic view that the emperor has from his courtyard. Through the large pillars a bright blue beach and sea backdrop can be seen in the distance, and in front of the pillars, just inside the courtyard, busts and statues can be seen all highlighted with floor based stage cans. Between these small Roman pots containing trees with twinkle lights, and large Roman pots containing twig style floral arrangements are also displayed.
In the centre of the courtyard a stone trellis adorned with twinkle lights and climbing vines, rises over the dance floor area, which is tiled in a black and white marble effect.
